This animated video introduces the SPHERE initiative, explaining how it supports the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) network by fostering cooperation, policy dialogue, and capacity building in third countries neighbouring the EU.
These activities cover four key regions: the Southern Mediterranean, the Western Balkans, the Neighbourhood East, and Central Asia. Each country has a national HERE team.
The goal of the HERE network is to inspire policy change in higher education systems, improve institutional strategies and practices, promote European policies, and create links between universities and society, while strengthening cooperation with the EU's European Education Area and the wider European Higher Education Area.

New projects for youth cooperation and non-formal learning in four E+ regions.
Today Erasmus+ published an article about the 59 new CBY projects selected for funding. NEO regions benefit from 40 of these, while a further 19 were selected for sub-Saharan Africa. The article also includes that all-important listing of the projects and their partners.

Jean Monnet Actions at higher education level foster the promotion of EU studies. They can fund the creation and delivery of teaching modules, professorships or chairs, and wider centres of excellence that promote EU studies.
The 2026 Erasmus+ call for proposals has selected 327 new Jean Monnet projects that look at a wide range of EU policy and strategy issues. And there is a strong focus on the EU’s international policy, with 45% of these projects operating outside Europe.

S početkom 2026. godine započeo je Erasmus+ projekt SHAPE-WB (eng. Smart Home and Automation for VET in the Western Balkans), usmjeren na jačanje kapaciteta stručnog obrazovanja u području elektrotehnike, s naglaskom na pametne kuće i automatizaciju. Projekt je finansiran kroz Erasmus+ natječaj Jačanje stručnog obrazovanja i osposobljavanja te okuplja stručne škole iz Hrvatske i Španjolske iz EU te pet strukovnih škola iz Bosne i Hercegovine i Crne Gore, s ciljem razvoja savremenih obrazovnih rješenja koja prate potrebe tržišta rada i tehnološki razvoj.
Pametne kuće i automatizacija predstavljaju jedan od najbrže rastućih sektora, koji značajno utječe na način života i rada. Upravljanje energijom, sigurnosni sistemi, povezani uređaji i digitalna rješenja postaju sastavni dio svakodnevice, ali i važan segment industrije. Upravo zato postoji sve veća potreba za obrazovanim i kvalificiranim stručnjacima koji mogu odgovoriti na izazove digitalne i zelene tranzicije.
U okviru projekta, naglasak je stavljen na razvoj relevantnih znanja i vještina kroz modernizaciju kurikuluma, jačanje kompetencija nastavnika te uspostavljanje snažnije saradnje između obrazovnog sistema i privrede.
